Rules

Breeding Classes

Must have breeding record book to show in breeding classes.

  • Jr. Boars/Gilts (after January 1st of current year)
  • Sr. Boars/Gilts (before January 1st of current year)
market swine

Market Classes (All Breeds)

  • Market Hogs (225-290 lbs)
  • Feeder Pig (under 225lbs): Ribbon
  • Overweight Market Hog (over 290lbs): Ribbon

Showmanship

All showmen are eligible to compete in their respective species.

  • Jr Showmanship: Open to showmen ages 8-13. Age is as of January 1 of the current year. Grand and Reserve Jr Showman are eligible for Sr Showmanship.
  • Sr Showmanship: Open to showmen ages 14 and up. Two finalists plus an alternate will be chosen to participate in the Round Robin on Friday.

Round Robin

Following the selection of the last Market Species Grand Champion, Senior finalists from Beef, Lambs, Hogs, Horses, Dairy, and Goats will compete for the Round Robin buckle donated in memory of Charlie Starks.

  • Once a competitor has won Round Robin, they are not eligible to compete in Round Robin again, but can still compete in Showmanship.
