Market Classes

  • Fat Beef (1,100-1,500lbs)
  • Lightweight Beef (under 1,100lbs): Ribbon
  • Overweight Beef (over 1,500lbs): Ribbon
  • Catch-It-Calf (not eligible to sell): Ribbon

Rate of Gain Contest

  • Eligible animals must have been tagged and weighed in February.
  • Eligible animals must be weighed in and shown at the Southeast Weld County Jr Fair & Rodeo.

Showmanship

All showmen are eligible to compete in their respective species.

  • Jr Showmanship: Open to showmen ages 8-13. Age is as of January 1st of the current year. Grand and Reserve Jr Showmen are eligible for Sr Showmanship.
  • Sr Showmanship: Open to showmen ages 14 and up. Two finalists plus an alternate will be chosen to participate in the Round Robin on Friday.

Round Robin

Following the selection of the last Market Species Grand Champion, Senior finalists from Beef, Lambs, Hogs, Horses, Dairy, and Goats will compete for the Round Robin buckle donated in memory of Charlie Starks.

  • Once a competitor has won Round Robin, they are not eligible to compete in Round Robin again, but can still compete in Showmanship.
